Poco F6 Chipset Leaked: Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Soc, Likely Rebranded Redmi Note 13 Turbo

Last year, Poco launched two ‘flagship killers’ – the F5 and F5 Pro. However, the F5 proved to be much more popular than its sibling. This was because the F5 offered a better price-to-feature ratio. It seems like we’ll get a duo of devices from Poco again this year as well. The F6 Pro has already started its certification journey. This indicates that the device’s launch is likely on the horizon. We can expect Poco to maintain its reputation for offering flagship-level performance at an affordable price point with the upcoming F6 series.

A ‘vanilla’ non-Pro F6 model is also coming from Poco. This device will face a tough challenge since its predecessor, the F5, set a high bar. However, the F6 will try to impress with its features. Apparently, it will come with the yet-unannounced Qualcomm SM8635 chipset. This could be branded as the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 or 8s Gen 2 when it gets officially unveiled on March 18.

On the other hand, the F6 Pro is expected to employ the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. This aligns with rumors suggesting that the F6 Pro might be a rebranded version of the Redmi K70. If these rumors are accurate, it will be interesting to see the performance difference between the two models. The ‘vanilla’ F6 could once again turn out to be the better buy, offering better value for money.

Interestingly, the Poco F6 will have the model number 24069PC21G internationally and 24069PC21I in India. The upcoming Redmi Note 13 Turbo for the Chinese market has the model number 24069RA21C. This strong similarity in model numbers suggests that the Poco F6 could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 13 Turbo.

Furthermore, reports suggest that the codename for the Poco F6 is “Peridot.” Peridot is a type of yellow ruby gemstone. Interestingly, Redmi Note series devices often have codenames derived from gemstone names. This similarity in codenames could be another piece of speculative evidence supporting the rumor that the Poco F6 might be a rebranded version of a Redmi Note device.

While we cannot confirm these details yet, the coincidences are intriguing. It will be exciting to see how the Poco F6 shapes up and whether it indeed shares its roots with a Redmi Note model. Poco has a reputation for offering great value, so we can expect the F6 to continue that trend, regardless of its origins.

Regardless of the speculation, we’ll likely find out more details in a few weeks. After Qualcomm officially unveils the SM8635 chipset, several Chinese smartphone makers will probably want to quickly announce new devices featuring it. Redmi should be among the first manufacturers to do so. Subsequently, Poco could take its Redmi-based model to an international audience.

The upcoming weeks seem exciting for smartphone enthusiasts. We’ll keep you updated as soon as we learn more about the Poco F6 and other devices powered by the new Qualcomm chipset. Stay tuned for the latest news and developments in this space. We’re looking forward to sharing more information with you soon.
